However, once I actually got to hear the playing and that godawful metal tone at the end, I could see why they didn't want to emphasize that part. And this is coming from someone who's actually a Line 6 friendly consumer. Sorry, guys. I like Variax guitars, but this video is a stinker.
- Chris Schackt: +flips220 While I could agree with you, you have to remember all of his sounds are made to work in a band mix, through a PA. If you strip down any mordern metal production, you'll quickly notice each single guitar track is a lot 'worse sounding' than you'd think.

He's explaining how twelve foot gets those dramatic tuning changes not about how his tone sits alone or in the mix which is objectively useful for people who asked the question.
