- Braylon Gillespie: Kudos to Line 6 if these are selling well, but this is getting too far away from being functional to enjoy. Personally, I think they're priced to high to be competitive and that Line 6 is putting way too much into this amp line. The Spider line is due for an update and I know a lot of people are waiting for an upgrade from their Spider IV. I applaud innovation, but not focusing on something that strays from useability.
- Braylon Gillespie: When compared to bluetooth sound systems, this is on point. I don't disagree with that. But when you think about guitar amplifiers in that range, you're paying around $100 more for bluetooth compatibility. I'd be way more enthusiastic about this if it could function without the app. As a gigging and recording musician, I dont want to have to take out my iphone or ipad to adjust my tone at the last minute. Also, if one of those devises dies, you're screwed. Cool bedroom amp, but not practical. That was my original point. As for the tone matching capabilities, you can't just let it listen to a song and have it match the tone. You enter a name and it searches a library of user uploaded patches with similar words in the title. It's basically a google search for guitar tones (which is cool), but like google, you might not always find what you're looking for.
- Thomas Murphy: Just bought the Amplifi 150 and I am blown away by how versatile and how good this Amp sounds. I've always had high end tube amps but I'm starting to rethink my tone these days, I'm thinking boutique amps are just way over priced and the tone is constantly changing( aka tube gremlins) always making things sound unreliable. I'll stick with the Line 6 Amplifi 150. Consistent, Reliable and low maintenance. A++++++.
- Paul Frields: Previous comment makes no sense to me. Amplifi 75 runs $400. Good mini-Bluetooth speakers with limited to no bass response run $250-300. They don't include a guitar amp, or any of the incredibly cool tone matching capabilities of the Amplifi -- not to mention the hundreds of effects modeled in the Amplifi. It's nothing if not affordable and competitive. Plus it's insanely easy to use. Go home internet, you're drunk.
- Paul Frields: +Braylon Gillespie To be fair, it's $100 for Bluetooth, plus tone matching. That's a pretty good deal feature wise. Of course the tones will differ in quality, but so do users' ears -- wildly, in my experience. ;-) And I would say you're just as screwed if your Spider's board goes belly up (or tubes in a vintage-style amp, etc.). None of these sound like competitive drawbacks, just par for the course. This amp isn't going to satisfy every use case, and that's why there are others available. Line 6 has picked a set of use cases that are unique and taken them beyond everything else presently available -- that's just good product management and design.
- timfingers: sorry I'm not impressed. can't update something as simple as the firmware. very disapointed with this purchase so far. we will see how line 6's customer service is. that always a challenge.
- Adriano Bausch: but you need win 7 at least
- Mikael Strings: Make me a new POD. Bring it to Winter NAMM 2015.
- M Donovan: +Paul Frields but tone matching needs iOS 7.0 or newer
- Marco Castellanos: I bought the AMPLIFi 150, and I really think this if not the best, it trully is one of the best buys I have ever made in the musical round! this amp is awesome, amazing, engaging, adictive, honestly one of my favorite and most powerfull tool in my studio!
