Line 6's Propellerhead Product Specialist Matt Piper demonstrates the additional functionality available when using Line 6 recording interfaces with Propellerhead Record.
Please note that the software used in this video was Record Reason Duo by Propellerhead. That product has since been replaced by Reason 6.5. Reason 6.5 has everything you see in the video plus powerful new features including new effects devices, thousands of new presets, sounds, and loops, and support for 3rd-party Rack Extensions.

- Line 6 Movies: As long as you use our latest driver, POD Studio GX is fully compatible with Windows 7.
On Windows, installing the latest version of POD Farm also installs our latest drivers.
A good rule of thumb to keep in mind regarding computer peripherals: Since you never know how long an item has been on a shelf prior to purchase, it is always a good idea to start by downloading the latest software & drivers rather than installing from the included disc. :)
- shitmandood: Line 6 was replaced with Softtube in Reason. Not sure how much of this works now. I suppose as an audio track just no internal Line 6 rack in Reason.
- Line 6 Movies: POD Farm 2 plus Reason Essentials works the same way as shown in the video. For the full functionality shown in the video, you need to use a Line 6 recording interface. Even with another interface you can open POD Farm 2 presets in Reason Essentials (except for dual-tone presets), and all the amp, cabinet, and preamp models that come with POD Farm 2 (or POD Farm 2 Platinum) will show up as available models in the virtual Line 6 Guitar Amp and Bass Amp devices in Reason Essentials (or Reason 6).
- busterboxer86: does this work for pod x3? not the live one just the desktop one!!! plz respond
- Line 6 Movies: @thestonejar Actually you would locate the .wav file in the file browser on the left of the Ableton Live window, and drag the file into a slot on an audio track in the Session view, or onto the timeline of an audio track in the Arrangement view. (Click TAB to toggle between the two views.) If you need more help figuring this out, I suggest clicking "Read the Live Manual" in the "Help" menu in Ableton Live, as a shortcut to familiarizing yourself with the operation of the software.
- LosoIAm: Great sharing - many thanks!
- Line 6 Movies: POD Studio UX1 does not have an input level control for the guitar input. It is a fixed level. So, I just turned my guitar all the way up and plugged it into UX1. If you are recording from the line output of your amp, it should be plugged into the line level input of an audio interface, rather than a microphone input or an instrument input. I hope that helps.
- Line 6 Movies: @erett2000 I assume you mean that you downloaded the 15-day free trial of POD Farm 2 for iLok. That does not require a Line 6 interface. It does require that you run POD Farm within your DAW as a plug-in (RTAS, VST, or AU). The standalone version requires a Line 6 interface. The installer probably installed both, and you are trying to run the standalone version that works with Line 6 hardware. Please try locating POD Farm in your DAW's plug-in list and run it that way.
- Line 6 Movies: @tbird5446 Sorry for the huge delay in responding- never saw this post for some reason. POD Farm standalone only works with Line 6 hardware.
- Chris Myers: +Jeff Skop Only the person who created the particular patch while creating that track would be able to tell you the exact presets, but a quick rundown would be: Seeing as they were using Propellerhead Record, I'm going to assume they also own Propellerhead Reason. That would more than likely be the software used. With reason you have access to a couple built in Synths that you can use Preset patches and sounds or mess with the knobs and settings to create your own Unique sound, after which add on layers upon layers of different effects to add more flavor/color. I highly Recommend Propellerhead Reason. You can even get a cheap limited version that still comes with a couple Synths to play around with. Hope this helped at least a little bit.
