"America/NATO" The end result is that nations are lining up for their modern, affordable, and effective weapons while NOBODY wants their cars.. Putin used the high oil prices of the 2000s to reinvest in much of Russia's consumer industries and now those industries have the entire market space to themselves.. But this time the Russian economy is no longer completely centralized under the Soviet system of governmental planning.. Putin ditched democracy and re-nationalized a few key industries important to national security, But for the most part the Russian economic system is now capitalist.. Combine this with the rising Russian birthrate and time is on Russia's side, It is definitely NOT on the side of the west.. Because Russian companies only have to compete with themselves If sanctions last a few years it will be great for Russia, However if sanctions last a few decades it will be bad for Russia..
